Blame game: Sindh governor in contact with MQM, alleges Kamal
Ishratul Ebad denies PSP chief's 'baseless' allegations
KARACHI:
Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairperson Mustafa Kamal has alleged that Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan is in contact with and assisting Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founding chief Altaf Hussain and leader Farooq Sattar.
Talking to the media outside PSP leader Ashfaq Mangi's residence on Monday, Kamal claimed that Khan was one of the leaders present in a meeting in Dubai where it was allegedly revealed that MQM is being funded by Indian spy agency, Raw.
Kamal said that the MQM chief threatened people to 'silence' them because of which no one is willing to vote for the party.
The media talk was organised to condemn the firing incident outside Mangi's residence in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 2 on Monday. Mangi claimed that unidentified people attempted to kidnap his brother from outside his house and when he put up resistance they fled while firing in the air. Mangi and his brother sustained minor injuries in the incident. Gulistan-e-Jauhar SHO Chaudhry Shahid said that the police have initiated investigations but no case has been registered yet. The PSP chairperson put the blame of the 'attempted kidnapping' on the MQM chief and included Khan and Sattar in his criticism.
He called the governor 'rishwat-ul-Ibad', alleging that Khan would never miss any chance of taking bribes in cases such as land grabbing.
Kamal also lashed out at Sattar for claiming the top slot in MQM-Pakistan and insisted that he was still in touch with the party leadership in London, adding that this 'camouflage' was being supported by Khan. He said that the governor called MQM chief and felicitated him in the money laundering case by the Scotland Yard.
Governor reacts
Khan reacted to the allegations in a talk with news channels and asserted that Kamal must back his claims with evidence. He termed the allegations baseless and said neither was he in contact with the MQM chief nor with any other leader of the party.
He clarified that he left the MQM in 2002 when he was sworn in as the Sindh governor for the first time.
