RAWALPINDI: Education Wing of City Traffic Police (CTP) has launched an awareness campaign to educate motorists about traffic rules and to ensure safety.

According to Acting Chief Traffic Officer (ACTO) Yousaf Ali Shah, Education Wing of CTP under its campaign is regularly visiting several bus and wagon stands of the city in addition to schools and colleges to educate motorists.

He said that in addition to lectures, they distribute pamphlets aimed at creating awareness about road safety and traffic rules.

“Traffic rules must be observed on roads as these are for the safety of the drivers and other road users as well,” he added.

The ACTO said that surveys had revealed that most of the traffic accidents on roads occur due to negligence on part of the drivers.

He added that efforts are being made to persuade the road users for traffic management.
