The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has granted a status of tehsil to Darband area of Mansehra district.

After Friday’s approval, Mansehra will now have a total of five tehsils, Radio Pakistan reported.

However, officials in the area said that they had yet to receive a written notification for the change.

The chief minister also announced that a college, a primary school, and a dispensary would be built in the area. He also directed the concerned authorities to ensure provision of all facilities to the locals of Darband.

On the occasion, the locals welcomed the development and showed their gratitude to the chief minister for fulfilling long awaited desire of the people of Darband.
