Sahiwal Power Project : Shehbaz satisfied with work progress

Says Pakistan’s friends were happy while its enemies were perturbed by projects like CPEC

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a surprise visit to the Sahiwal coal power project in Qadirabad on Friday to review the pace of development. He later expressed satisfaction over the progress of the work. Speaking on the occasion, he said Pakistan’s friends were happy while its enemies were perturbed by projects like the Sahiwal power project and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong said this project was a milestone in the mutual cooperation between the two countries. He assured the chief minister Shehbaz Sharif that China would continue to cooperate with Pakistan for its economic development. The 1,320MW project is scheduled to be completed by June 2017. The chief minister Shehbaz Sharif also witnessed exercises of Special Protection Unit and spoke to the officials concerned.
