Trump is not an isolated phenomenon

Letter October 14, 2016
The Republicans need to revisit their values and principles as their core values actually reflect bigotry

TORONTO, CANADA: Republicans who are playing the good guys in distancing themselves from US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump should do some self-reflection before they play the game of holier than thou. Extremism has infiltrated the party. The Republicans need to revisit their values and principles as their core values actually reflect bigotry and racism. That is probably relevant to why the entire right-wing party, whether in the US, Canada, or Europe, consists of almost all white people.

Right wings should use the Trump example to do self-analysis and revisit their teachings to make them inclusive and embrace those who look different. They should not now just act as if they are different than Trump. They have stood behind him throughout his campaign even when he showed contempt and bigotry against Mexicans, Muslims, blacks and differently-abled persons. Where was their conscience then? They were not bothered by him all along, which proves that they also share the same values of division, bigotry and racism.
