Dawn's 'fabricated' story breached national security, says army

The forum rejects Indian claims of surgical strikes; terms it attempt to divert world's attention from Kashmir

The Corps Commanders expressed on Friday serious concerns over the publication of a story regarding a security meeting held at Prime Minister's House.

Participants [of the meeting] expressed serious concern over feeding of false and fabricated story of an important security meeting at PM House, and viewed it as breach of national security," the military's media wing ISPR said.

Army chief General Raheel Sharif presided over the Corps Commanders' conference at the GHQ. All Corps Commanders and Principal Staff Officers attended the meeting.

The participants also held a comprehensive review of internal and external security situation with particular focus on the prevailing situation on the Line of Control (LoC) and army's operational preparedness.



Army chief reiterated the resolve to defend the motherland against a full spectrum of threats at all costs. He also recounted the successes of Operation Zarb-e-Azb so far and resultant stability being achieved to propel Pakistan in to a new phase of development and prosperity.

General Raheel re-emphasised the need for sustained efforts on internal security to defeat all hostile attempts to reverse the country's gains. The commanders resolved to continue sustained and focused combing and intelligence-based operations across the length and breadth of the country to uproot terrorism.

They agreed to harmonise the operations with the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) to address extremism and other causes of terrorism.



The forum once again rejected absurd Indian claims of surgical strikes and termed them attempt to divert world’s attention from Indian brutalities against Kashmiris. It resolved that any attempt of misadventurism and irresponsible act will be met with the most befitting response.

The commanders also expressed complete satisfaction over the operational preparedness of troops.
