An official of the health facility said Muhammad Nasir, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan, was travelling to Sargodha by a bus when it met an accident near Qadirpur Raan, a suburban village of Multan.
The injured trader was shifted to Accident & Emergency ward of the Nishtar Medical Institute in an unconscious condition. However, when the patient was shifted to the hospital, the staff found 24 pairs of earrings, 23 golden chains, Rs3,000 and a cell phone from his bag.
The official said all these items were handed over to NMI medical superintendent Dr Ashiq Malik and after treatment, he returned the valuables to Nasir.
Earlier, in a show of honesty and professional responsibility, two police officials returned over a million rupees they found on the body of a person identified as Sajid Ali.
