The terrorists were involved in killing innocent civilians, polio workers, NGO employees, police officials and armed forces personnel, the statement added.
The ISPR said firearms and explosives were recovered from their [terrorists] possession, adding the convicts were tried by military courts.
All of those awarded the sentence were “active members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)”. The convicts admitted their offences before the magistrate and the trial court.

1.Muhammad Shahid Omar, son of Zaman Khan
The convict was involved in killing of two female workers of a polio vaccination team; 11 employees of a NGO and several civilians. He was also involved in attacking law enforcement agencies (LEAs) which resulted in death and injuries to police officials and soldiers.
2. Hussain Shah, son of Fazale Hadi
The convict was involved in attacking the armed forces of Pakistan, which resulted in death of Major Mustafa, Captain Waseem, several soldiers and injuries to many other soldiers.
3. Zafar Iqbal, son of Muhammad Khan
The convict was involved in attacking the LEAs which resulted in death of Subiadar Awal Khan, Naik Azmatullah of Frontier Constabulary (FC) and injuries to ASI of police Chanar Gul and Sepoy Shafique of FC. The convict also possessed fire arms and explosives.
4. Anwer Zeb, son of Tootkay
The convict was involved in abduction of Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Khaqqan Afzal, slaughtering of SI (retired) Umar Ghani and killing of a civilian. He also possessed firearms and explosives.
5. Obaidur Rehman, son of Fazal Hadi
The convict was involved in killing of innocent civilians. He also possessed explosives.
6. Sher Alam, son of Hanifur Rehman
The convict was involved in attacking the LEAs and killing of civilians. He possessed firearms and explosives.
7. Attaullah, son of Muhammad Sultan; Mushtaq Khan, son of Saeed Gul and Asghar Khan, son of Nadar Khan
The convicts were involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of several soldiers and injures to Captain Asif. They also possessed firearms and explosives.
8. Shamsul Qamar, son of Sha Gulbar
The convict was involved in attacking the LEAs, which resulted in death of police officials and injuries to civilians.
