In a letter written to the United Nations secretary general, Haider appealed Ban Ki-moon to pressurise the Indian government to free pro-freedom Kashmiri leader and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik.
The JKLF chief was arrested by the Indian forces after Burhan Wani was killed on July 8, 2016.
“Keeping the deteriorating health condition of Malik in view, it is necessary to release him for the medical check-up and any further delay may put his life at risk,” the premier’s letter said.
Meanwhile, addressing a public gathering in the Nakyal area of Kotli district, close to the Line of Control (LoC), AJK Prime Minister Haider said that the government will announce a Rs7 billion package for the people living along the LoC.
“The government will collect the data of the people living along the LoC and provide them funds to build bunkers and avoid the Indian aggression,” the premier added.
He said that the people of Kashmir were ready to sacrifice their lives in case of any aggression from the enemy adding that they fully supported the Pakistan armed forces.
The premier rejected Indian claims of surgical strikes and stated that India had earlier also orchestrated the ‘drama of Uri attack to malign Pakistan’.
During the visit to the various areas close to the Line of control in Samahni, Chamb, Barnala, Nakyal sectors in Mirpur and Abbaspur area, the prime minister to express solidarity with those affected by the Indian firing.
Speaking at Abbaspur, Farooq appealed to the UN and other peace loving countries to take serious notice of Indian aggression.
He said that armed forces of the country are fully capable to give a befitting response to the enemy in case of any misadventure.
