LAHORE: Christians, like their Muslim brethren, are equally sorrowful during Muharram regardless of their religious beliefs, said Cathedral Church Dean Shahid P Mehraj on Tuesday.

In a statement, Mehraj said Muharram 10 reminds people about the virtue of sacrifice and the importance of helping those in need.

The dean added he was proud of the fact that many Christians had cooperated with the Muslims in Karbala. “Everyone can learn valuable lessons through the sacrifices rendered by Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions,” Mehraj was quoted as saying.
