Promoting harmony: CM attends majlis, prays at Binoria Town

KARACHI: Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that in order to promote sectarian harmony in Sindh, he went to listen to the majlis at Nishtar Park and then offered Maghrib prayers at Binoria Town mosque.

He said this while speaking to the media in Guru Mandir. Shah began a tour of the city on Sunday from Clifton via Mai Kolachi to Kharadar where he visited the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah and then went through the streets of Lyari to Soldier Bazaar where he met shopkeepers.

He urged the shopkeepers to close their shops for the construction of roads. “If you cooperate with me I will construct your streets within five days,” he promised. He also listened to the problems of the people who gathered to receive him. The CM also visited MA Jinnah Road to inspect the Muharram procession route and was briefed by Sindh IG AD Khawaja on the arrangements.

Shah visited Numaish where he visited different sabeel stalls and then walked to Nishtar Park where he, along with some cabinet members, listened to a sermon by Allama Talib Jauhari.

At the site, he said the Pakistan Peoples Party government has always gathered people under its umbrella irrespective of their social class or religious beliefs.

Expressing his happiness, Shah said that Karachi’s old glories are returning; “there used to be sectarian harmony, recreational places full of visitors and people led peaceful lives.”
