Raging bull: ‘I would like to punch Trump in the face’
Robert De Niro condemns US presidential candidate in new video
Hollywood veteran Robert De Niro has lashed out at American presidential candidate Donald Trump, in a video aired on Megyn Kelly’s The Kelly File, reported Variety. In the video, the actor tells viewers that he would “like to punch Trump in the face.”
De Niro’s segment was produced by Anonymous Content, which has been making a series of short interviews for a voter initiative called #VoteYourFuture. The director of the video, Tom McCarthy, asked De Niro, “What do you care about?”
In the video, De Niro also calls Trump “blatantly stupid” and “a punk.” The Taxi Driver star’s anti-Trump remarks were so emphatic that the producers concluded they could not be part of the campaign, which is non-partisan. But the video was given to Kelly’s show for airing and publicists for the production firm released it to the media on Friday.
A host of other Hollywood celebrities have also openly endorsed Trump’s rival in the election, Hillary Clinton. In fact, just earlier this week, the cast of Empire released a video supporting the Democratic nominee. The new ad is called What Will You Say and highlights “what’s at stake for the African-American community in this election,” the Clinton campaign said, in a statement. It will run on TV and online in battleground states.
