KARACHI: A local court remanded on Friday an assistant professor of University of Karachi (KU) to custody of the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) cybercrime cell in a case of harassment of a female professor.

FIA had arrested the assistant professor at the KU's psychology department over allegations of harassing a private university's female professor. The prosecution alleged that he had uploaded indecent pictures and videos of the female professor on Facebook using a fake account.

On Friday, the investigation officer (IO) of the case produced the suspect before the court and requested for his custody in order to complete the investigation. The officer claimed that the suspect had confessed to harassing the female professor. Allowing the request, the judge remanded him to the custody of FIA's cybercrime cell investigator for two weeks.
