What about the other children?

Letter October 06, 2016
lawmakers must think about all aspects of something before making a change

KARACHI: Across the world when children put on different kinds of clothes and begin to go to school for the sake of knowledge and education, we feel a specific kind of joy through their innocence. In Pakistan, however, I can also see children of all ages begging on the streets, sweeping roads, and cleaning cars at traffic signals. They have been forced to kill their aspirations, dreams and other wishes because they are pressed to earn a living for themselves and for their families. Child labour is a complex problem which demands a range of solutions. There is no better way to prevent child labour than to make education compulsory. Therefore, I request the government to take steps to resolve this issue in order to improve the future of these children.
