Recently, the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association passed a resolution banning Pakistani artists and technicians from working in the nation's film industry.

Here's Humayun Saeed's take on the Bollywood ban on Pakistani actors

Now, members of the Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India are contemplating banning all films starring Pakistani actors which include the upcoming Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees

A final decision on this will be taken on Friday, October 7. COEAI President Niting Datar said, "The members will be meeting on Friday and we'll decide on the matter. But one thing is for certain - the decision will be taken keeping the wishes and the sentiment of the public. We won't go against them." reports Times of India.

Expressing support for the IMPPA ban he said, "Yes, I support the IMPPA ban. They are looking at the bigger picture and taking steps for the future."

Distribution Club to release one Pakistani film every month

If the boycott is enforced, will completed films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raess face the ban or not? To this question, Nitin said, "I can't talk about specifics but many factors have to be taken into consideration. See, many exhibitors have already signed the deal with the distributors. So if we decide on a ban, they may even face legal charges from distributors. We need to figure this out."
