ABBOTTABAD: In an effort to increase security during the month of Muharram, the district administration has imposed Section 144 in Abbottabad for a month.

No holidays for officials till Muharram 11

Under this section of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc), the magistrate may direct any person to abstain from a certain act or to take certain order with certain property in his possession or under his management.

According to a press release, the administration has also banned non-residents from staying in Abbottabad for a month.

Additionally, the administration has banned pillion riding for the month, while exhibition and carrying of firearms, purchase and distribution of cassettes, videos and written material containing provocative and sectarian-based hate speeches have been restrained for a period of at least 30 days.
