Mohammad Amir to fly home from UAE

24-year-old is returning to Pakistan to spend time with his mother who is critically ill

Pakistan left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir will be flying back home today to attend to his mother who is seriously ill, Express News reported.

The 24-year-old has been allowed by the team management to leave for home during the on-going series against West Indies in the UAE.

Pakistan whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in the T20I series and followed it up with an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.


The last ODI will be played on Wednesday which will be followed by three Test matches.

Amir was not part of the first two 20-over encounters since he joined the team one day before the first T20I match due to his wedding.

Pakistan beat West Indies by 111 runs in first ODI


He then featured in the third T20I and the first two ODIs for Pakistan. The left-armer bagged two wicket in his three outings for Pakistan in the series against West Indies in the UAE – one in each of the two ODIs. He went wicket-less in the third T20I that he played.

He will miss the third ODI against West Indies, however, he is expected to return for the three Test matches.
