The election commission has announced the schedule for elections on reserved seats of local governments across Punjab. The returning officers will issue a public notification on October 6 for the candidates to file their nomination papers by October 15. The submitted papers will be scrutinised on October 17 and 18. The candidates can file appeals against the retuning officers’ decisions on October 20 that will be decided by the appellate authority by October 22. The final list of candidates will be announced on October 25. Elections for reserved seats of district councils, municipal corporations and metropolitan corporations will be held on November 8. Polls for the municipal committees and union councils will be held on November 10 and November 12, respectively. The Election Commission of Pakistan will announce the final results on November 21 while they will be sworn in on November 26.
