The Sindh High Court reserved on Monday orders regarding the maintainability of a contempt plea by model Ayyan Ali.
The bench, comprising Justices Ahmed Sheikh and Muhammad Karim Agha, reserved their order after hearing final arguments.
Ayyan had filed a plea seeking contempt proceedings against the interior ministry, FIA and immigration authorities for restricting her movement outside the country after the SHC had twice suspended the ministry's memorandum regarding the inclusion of her name on the ECL.
Additional attorney-general Salman Talibuddin opposed the plea’s maintainability, contending that it could not be entertained without the petitioner's affidavit. Ayyan's lawyer, Latif Khosa, denied the allegations, saying the trial court had issued her arrest warrants in a case in which she has not been nominated as the accused.
