Acclaimed play: Dara Shikoh comes to a LUMS screen

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lums) screened the English version of Ajoka Theatre’s internationally acclaimed play Dara on Friday evening. A recording of Dara’s adaptation by the prestigious National Theatre of UK, the screening was followed by a conversation with the film’s writer and director Shahid Nadeem along with Ajoka Theatre’s Artistic Director Madeeha  Gauhar, Production Consultant Anwar Akhtar and Lums’ Dr Taimur Rahman. The event was attended by students, academics and several other guests. Dara highlights the conflict between Prince Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb. Earlier in his introductory remarks, Dr Taimur praised Ajoka’s contribution to socially meaningful and artistically high-quality theatre in the country.
