Another key NAB post falls vacant

NAB repatriates director-general operation Kausar Iqbal Malik to his parent department, the National Bank of Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has repatriated director-general operation Kausar Iqbal Malik to his parent department, the National Bank of Pakistan.

Kausar Iqbal Malik, a banker by profession, has been working at the NAB headquarters in Islamabad since December 2008.

Analysts say NAB, which is already facing shortage of manpower, will definitely suffer due to Malik’s departure.

Malik was supervising thousands of cases and conducting operation against the corrupt officials in light of Supreme Court’s order.

He was also looking into the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) cases reopened after the apex court declared NRO unconstitutional last year.

Answer : How many politicians, judges, generals and others were part and parcel of committing above crime? The answer would be all parties in politics today. (2) Any person aiding or abetting the acts mentioned in clause (1) shall likewise be guilty of high treason. (3) (Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) shall by law provide for the punishment of persons fould guilty of high treason. Answer : If the parliament or its any member is not meeting above clauses means a straight forward case of high treason. So far all elected Governments were illegitimate and illegal therefore they were rightly thrown out of power. We have to remove all root causes and support for very honest people with no track record of any constitutional violations particularly article 6 and bring a pure democracy once for all. Current Chief justice is also not meeting above requirements so bring a non PCO judiciary as early as possible.

FARID SHAH | 13 years ago | Reply This hight of ignorance to appoint a simple banker on such a position, investigation should be carried out and kept these type of people to their department, If he is a Nation Bank employee just think the favor he had give to the defaulters of NBP.

SALAMULLHA | 13 years ago | Reply Kausar Iqbal Malik is a normal banker, has some experience of commercial banking only, Entering from back door to NAB Head Quarters Islamabad and being a key person in many settlements of bank defaulters or pale bargains out side the court. As a common citizen of Pakistan it is requested that his and his family members, brother, sisters wealth and accumulated money in Pakistani Banks and foreign banks should be investigated. His property apart from Bahari Town, Islamabad and in Karachi should also put on account. The benefits he had taken from NAB, his foreign visits and specially Dubai visits should also bring and unveil many bitter truths. His cell phones , residence telephone record bring further proofs to take action. The income tax paid before joining NAB and and leaving NAB should also be investigated. The department Kausar Iqbal Malik was heading is a sensitive department and need proper education as well hand on training to investigate the financial frauds. Just see the power full designation Director General Financial Crimes Investigation Wings FCIW and his past experience he had. It is a simple jock with a poor Nation to appoint a person without any knowledge of Financial Crimes Investigation. Kausar Iqbal Malik, kit no. 7220/Liaquat House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1972 and left the college in 1977 after completing his Intermediate. He was born on 12 October 1958 and got married to Mrs. Khalida Parveen on 3 April 1986. They have 4 children - Hajirah, Maryam, Muhammad Umair and Samar. After passing out from Petaro, Kausar graduated from Punjab University in 1980 and got his LLB from Sindh University in 1989 (Which division no records). He did his MBA (Banking and Finance) Which University no one know) in 2003. Kausar has been a banker all his life. He started his career with Habib Bank in 1981 at D.I. Khan. Early during his career, he went abroad and worked with the National Bank of Oman, Muscat for 6 years and BCCI, Yemen for 3 years. He also went to work in Kenya for African Banking Corporation Ltd, Nairobi for 4 years. In Pakistan, he has worked for Bolan Bank, Askari Bank, Platinum Bank and Prime Commercial Bank (which was later on taken over by ABN Amro Bank, which in turn was bought over by Royal Bank of Scotland or RBS), where he was the Executive Vice President. He then joined the National Bank of Pakistan as the Senior Executive Vice President. Currently, he is on deputation from National Bank and working as the Director General Operations Division and Financial Crimes Investigation Wing in the NAB (National Accountability Bureau). Kausar has always been a very active Petarian and has participated in major Petarian events. He is ever ready and helpful to all Petarians, and is always such a pleasure to be with.
