The suspect identified as Naseer, was booked by the Margalla police on September 24 after the victim lodged a complaint.
The victim stated she was raped and beaten at gunpoint when she was walking along the Jinnah Avenue opposite F-9 Park in the afternoon on September 24. “I was walking towards the Blue Area when an armed man forced me into his van. He also beat and raped me,” the woman stated in her complaint.

According to the victim, she jumped out of the van when the suspect tried to speed up after a motorcyclist came towards the vehicle. The complainant said that the suspect also snatched Rs100,000 in cash from her.
She described the suspect’s car as a white coloured school van. The suspect was wearing a navy blue uniform, she stated in her complaint.
Results of a medical examination of the victim are still awaited.
A police official told The Express Tribune that the suspect’s DNA test will also be conducted to ascertain facts of the matter.

“So far, we have heard only the victim’s side of the story. Facts would be established after detailed interrogation of the suspect and after obtaining DNA test results,” the official said. The suspect will be produced before a judicial magistrate today (Friday).
