Pakistani teen gang-raped by four in Greek migrant camp

ATHENS: Four Pakistani minors have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old boy in a Greek migrant camp, police said Wednesday.

"The four minors, aged 16 to 17, will appear before a prosecutor today," a police source told AFP. The victim is also Pakistani. The incident occurred on Sunday in the camp of Moria on the island of Lesbos.

Greece is accommodating over 60,000 refugees and migrants stuck in the country after a succession of Balkan and EU states shut their borders earlier this year.

Many of the camps are grossly overpopulated, and rights groups have repeatedly warned that minors must be accommodated separately for their safety.

There are also regular fights amongst refugees and migrants, who are forced to wait for months for their asylum applications to be processed.

Some 5,000 people had to be evacuated from the Moria camp last week after a fire broke out after another brawl.

Maria | 8 years ago | Reply @Bunny Rabbit: Europe is full of Muslim refugees from all countries and there are fewer Pakistanis than other groups. You will see Indians, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans and others are also jostling to be accepted as refugees too but the majority are Arab, Iranian, Afghan, Somali and other Muslims. When India is known as the rape centre of the world, why do Indians feel that they can comment here about an alleged criminal ? A criminal is a criminal. There are more criminal rapists in India we all know.
