You can now go incognito on Google's iOS app

An incognito session allows users to privately browse and search without their history being saved

Google has added an update to its iOS app that lets users search privately in incognito mode.

The update allows users to open new incognito sessions directly from the app. Just like in Chrome, the app switches to a dark theme in incognito mode to differentiate it from a normal browsing session. Touch ID can also be enabled to prevent others from accessing a prior incognito session.

The feature is an important update for privacy-conscious users as it adds an extra layer of security. Google’s Chrome app and Apple's Safari already have incognito and private browsing but Google's app has the added benefit of Google Now cards -- the service’s predictive search results that may make it a more convenient choice.

The update also allows users to view YouTube videos directly in search results without having to open a separate app or webpage.
