ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) will donate medicine and blood bags to Kashmiri patients injured during protests against the Indian forces. This was stated by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) Islamabad Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Javed Akram at an event on Tuesday.

“To express solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers, the hospital will collect 100,000 blood bags and medicines worth Rs1 billion and donate them to hospitals in Kashmir,” the VC remarked.

Claiming that people of Indian occupied Kashmir do not have access to proper medical facilities, he demanded that medical staff from Pakistan should be allowed to go to the disputed Himalayan region to treat the injured.



The VC also urged the Indian government to shift the Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik to PIMS for better healthcare.

With regards to human rights violation in Indian occupied Kashmir, Malik’s Mishal said that Indian forces have not even spared hospitals. She lamented that human rights are being blatantly violated by Indian forces but the international community remains silent.

She disclosed that hospitals in the disputed state are facing shortages of medicines and protesters who have been arrested are being kept with habitual criminals.

A walk was also held at the hospital by the staff to condemn human rights violation in the valley and the situation that has arisen after prolonged curfew.
