Potential : Health sector attracts Chinese investors

ISLAMABAD: A Chinese pharmaceutical company has expressed interest in investing in the healthcare sector especially medical equipment in Pakistan. A delegation of Chinese National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation Sinopharm expressed its interest during a meeting with National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Minister Saira Afzal Tarar Tuesday. The delegation also discussed joint investment in vaccine production. Sinopharm is famous for its most comprehensive competitiveness and complete chain of the whole pharmaceutical industry in China. The minister informed the delegation that in Pakistan there was huge scope for investment in the active pharmaceutical ingredient preparation sector, intermediates, vaccines and blood products and finished drugs as well as in the field of medical devices.
