ISLAMABAD: Like elsewhere in the country, an anti-polio drive is starting in Islamabad from Monday (today). An anti-polio walk will also be held on the service lane of Sector F-11/4.

Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz has said that the campaign would be launched in rural and urban areas of the federal capital from September 26 and continue till December 30.

He was speaking at a meeting of city administration to review the preparations for the anti-polio drive. IG police and the deputy commissioner were also present in the meeting along with PM’s focal person on polio eradication Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq.

Aziz said the department of health services has set a target of vaccinating 140,835 children during the drive. At least 600 polio vaccination teams will go door-to-door to administer anti-polio drops.
