Umar, Shafiq recalled to Pakistan ODI side

First ODI is in Sharjah on Friday, followed by another at same venue on October 2 and one in Abu Dhabi on October 5

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday announced the 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies in the United Arab Emirates.

As expected, opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez has been dropped due to fitness concerns, whereas middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has been included in the side.

Similarly, Test batsman Asad Shafiq has also been included in the squad after his impressive performance in the National T20 Cup.

Hafeez out of ODI series against West Indies

Meanwhile, pacers Umar Gul and Mohammad Irfan have been dropped as well for the series against the West Indies.

The first ODI is in Sharjah on Friday, followed by another at the same venue on October 2 and one in Abu Dhabi on October 5. Pakistan will also play three Tests after the limited-over series.
