‘Pakistan 1,000 times stronger than in 1965’

JI Amir says Delhi trying to divert attention from Kashmir; urges world to step in

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Sirajul Haq said on Saturday that India is creating war hysteria to divert the world’s attention from its atrocities in Kashmir but also added that in case of war, New Delhi would face a Pakistan which is a thousand times stronger than it was in 1965.

Addressing the JI Youth festival under the aegis of the JI women wing at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, he stressed upon the world community to take notice of India’s war plans and its threats to Pakistan in order to save the region from the horrors of war.

The JI chief warned that a war between India and Pakistan would not be confined between the two countries but its flames would spread in all directions. He therefore insisted that the world should not sit idle but instead take practical steps to restrain India and prevent war.

Haq stressed that India should come out of the war hysteria and hold meaningful talks on Kashmir issue.

He said that India has long been facing extremism. “Hindu fanatics are treating religious minorities of Muslims, Sikhs and Christians worse than animals. On the economic front, India is suffering from the worst type of poverty and millions of its citizens are forced to go to sleep with empty bellies. Yet, Indian premier Modi is spitting venom against this country to conceal his failures,” he added.

‘India will not attack Pakistan or AJK’

The JI chief said that Pakistan was united as a nation to face any challenge. Stressing over the role women played in the 1965 war, Haq said that even Pakistani women had come out of their homes with batons to deal with the enemy and added that no enemy could defeat a nation whose women and children were imbued with such a spirit.

Haq deplored that while the enemy was preparing for war, rulers in Islamabad were busy in amassing wealth. “A system based on injustice and exploitation is going on in the country, while the masses are deprived of basics of life the ruling elite is enjoying luxuries.”

He said education and health were not among the priorities of the government and it had not built a single hospital in the country in its tenure, where they could get proper treatment.

Haji Atiya | 7 years ago | Reply Sure Pakistan is 1000 times stronger than it was in '65. But by the same token India is merely 500 times stronger than it was in '65. But again it was 3 times stronger than Pakistan in '65.....so Professor Haq what is the bottom-line?

At this rate it will be 1 million times stronger than India in next 50 years!! And unlike 1965, when the pak army bravely ended up saving lahore while trying to snatch kashmir from India, this time the pak army will bravely end up saving balochistan.

Vectra | 7 years ago | Reply Honestly keeping all the chest thumping aside lets take a look at the present real situation.The basic fact is Pakistan is weaker that it was in 1965 and India is too powerful to deal with if war breaks out any time now and will go out of control of even Pakistan Army in just 2 days.So keep all the bravado inside and instead make peace.

Avtar | 7 years ago | Reply With most of the US aid on war on terror diverted to modernizing armed forces and nuclear development it is not a surprise. Until OBL's death, most of Pakistani requests from the US were fulfilled. However, Pakistan was either sleeping or looked the other way when attack on Abbotabad occurred. Even now whenever the US is able to target a terrorist, it is able to.

North Indians are aggressive due to repeated invasions of muslims . Pakistanis who are converted hindus have completely gone bonkers as they faced maximum brunt of these invasions followed by north indians. But please do remember whenever outsiders captured pakistan and north India they inevitably turned their attention to South India.

MK | 7 years ago | Reply To be honest, all this jingoism and bravado is really nauseating. We should learn from our history and previous wars and not repeat the same. Fighting and loss of life is not the solution for everything. Threats of nuclear warfare are hardly a joke, and realistically if either country uses nuclear arsenal, the radioactive fallout would also impact them since we are neighbours. Time to come out of the caveman mentality, as we are living in the modern world. It's not a time to go backwards in the height of arrogance.

Lets talk about the minorities of pakistan and where did you bury them for the sake of islamization of your country ... shall we?. You talk about Kashmir and very conveniently choose to ignore BALOCHISTAN, where your army killed scores of people to grab their land and natural resources. You talk about justice and yet choose to ignore your role in the 2008 mumbai attack. H*ck, you even denied Osama's hide out and want the world to believe you. One thing in for sure, you stronger 1000 times than 1965 is a farce.

It will be interesting to watch a wrestling match between Pathan Haq sahib and Marathi Mohan Bhagwat. Common mate, live and let others live. I guess both of these leaders do not have their kids enlisted in their respective armies. Pathetic to live in any of the third world country India/Pakistan. Better thing would be to immigrate. People in North India are in general hot headed and arrogant. Pakistanis and North Indians have the same origin and so are their behavior.

Only saving grace is that out Military is not run by these clowns.

They also need not to create war hysteria and use resources to isolate us. Our leaders like this Mullah are enough to destroy us. In 1965, Pakistan was far better than Korea, Malaysia, China and India. Now it's bracketed with Somalia and Afghanistan but this leader declares that we are 1000 times stronger than 1965. Do we still need an outside enemy.
