LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council’s (PbBC) Scrutiny Committee of Lawyers chairman resigned on Saturday after citing reservations over non-implementation of committee’s recommendations and withdrew it after insistence of the bar members.

Advocate Munir Bhatti in a press conference announced his resignation and said there is a mafia in the PbBC that favoured unqualified lawyers and hindered decisions of the scrutiny committee. However, he is considering withdrawing the resignation as the general house has assured they would implement his committee’s decision.
