FC sepoy gunned down in Hayatabad

PESHAWAR: Unidentified armed men riding on a motorbike gunned down on Friday a sepoy of Frontier Constabulary (FC) in the Hayatabad area of Peshawar.

The deceased, Basit Ahmad who hailed from Charsadda, left his office along with another official when he came under attack on Industrial Estate road. He died on the spot.

The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained as yet.

“He was deployed in Hayatabad area and he left the FC building along with another man when the attackers only opened fire at Basit, sparing the other man which suggests that they were after him,” said ASP Hayatabad Wasim Riaz while talking to The Express Tribune.

“His family has been informed about the incident,” the official said.
