Khan power: Fawad signs film under Salman’s production company
Pakistani heartthrob to play lead in Nittin Kakkar’s urbane love story
Only a few days ago, Fawad Khan’s Bollywood debut Khoobsurat completed two years. And before we could digest this, news broke that the Pakistani heartthrob will soon begin shooting for Nittin Kakkar’s film, which will be made under Salman Khan’s production banner.
“We go on floors with Fawad sometime next year. He is locked in. We are currently in the process of getting a female lead on board,” Nitin said. When asked whether the film will have a social message like his previous directorial Filmistan, he shared, “This is an urbane love story. But more than that, it’s an interesting take on relationships between a boy and a girl.”
According to reports, Fawad was in talks for Salman’s film Jugalbandi, reported Hindustan Times. But it seems like Kakkar’s film happened before that. Salman, who is currently busy wrapping Kabir Khan’s Tubelight, will take a call about which film to begin producing — Jugalbandi or Nitin Kakkar’s untitled movie, only after his latest one nears the finishing line.
Earlier, when asked about Jugalbandi, Fawad stated, “I really can’t comment on that right now. Let’s just say that we have been in talks with a lot of people, maybe Jugalbandi is one of them. Nothing is concrete right now. Besides, I don’t like talking about anything until I haven’t penned it down on a piece of paper. When we are ready to make a public announcement, we will. As of now, we aren’t associated with anything.”
The Kapoor & Sons star will soon be seen in Karan Johar’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He will also be sharing the screen with Katrina Kaif in Dharma Production’s next film Raat Baaki.
