Chinese PM reiterates support for Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue

Li Keqiang says China is standing by Pakistan and will continue to raise voice in its support at every forum

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang said on Wednesday that Beijing attaches great importance to Islamabad’s position on the Kashmir issue, Radio Pakistan reported.

"China is standing by Pakistan and will continue to raise their voice in its support at every forum," he said, adding that the country can help resolve the latest standoff between India and Pakistan.

The statement comes while the Chinese premier was meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in New York to discuss the matters of mutual importance.

While referring to Pakistan’s tension with India, Keqiang said that the former was itself a victim of terrorism and hoped that the rift between the two neighbouring countries did not escalate further.

PM Nawaz welcomed the China’s statements against the Indian brutalities in the occupied Kashmir valley, saying Pakistan is committed for a peaceful region and against all forms, manifestation of terrorism.

Terming the two countries as ‘iron-brothers’, Premier Nawaz said that now Pak-China relations have taken a new turn while also thanking the Chinese prime minister for understanding Pakistan stance in Nuclear Suppliers Group.

o in light of that, why did Nawaz use major part of his general assembly speech to speak about Kashmir? Because Kashmir's PAKISTAN's matter more than China?

China might do if you poke in their territory. BTW, when NS talks of Kashmir, means China is backing him up because China contains part of Kashmir and beside India noone have issue with it. Thus it's a combine stance.

Gp65 | 7 years ago | Reply Only Pakistani news sources and some Indian news sources are saying that. Have not seen a. Single Chinese source which states that Li backs up Pakistan's stand.

Nevertheless, as much as China comes to Pakistan's support, so much will India will get USA's support. More importantly, when Baluchistan becomes independent, CPEC becomes coffin.

Raj - USA | 7 years ago | Reply @genesis: CPEC is a game changer. It is no longer a corridor and has become a coffin for both China and Pakistan. Baluchistan will become independent soon and China has already made them their enemies. Even Afghanistan dislikes China for supporting Pakistan which only encourages Pakistan to cause destruction in Afghanistan through use of terrorists that Pakistan is sheltering, protecting and controlling. CPEC will change the map. Splitting Pakistan will solve Kashmir problem for India. The argument that splitting Pakistan will cause more problems of terrorism is flawed. All countries in the region should and would join together to eliminate Pakistan based terrorists totally and this would be far better than allowing Pakistan to keep control of those terrorists as Pakistan will continue to use them against all countries in the region, as always.

Pakistan only demand to take steps for implementation of UN resolution on Kashmir .. And according to resolution Pakistan has to vacate its army from Azad Kashmir (many Indians also demand this for implementation of this resolution) .. Pakistan is ready for this but things will be first settle with dialogues and talks that what will be next step because after Pakistan the India also has to demilitarized Kashmir and take steps for plebiscite (according to UN resolution) and also settlement about how this process will be done , what is the role of other countries like UN security council etc .. After this there will be peace in the South Asia , without this there is a possibility of nuclear war and Kashmir will always burn (Just imagine if we are Kashmiris and face an curfew for three months, no food, no internet, no mobile service, you have to face 7 lacs army if you freedom) We cannot even imagine this life ..
