They said that speedy completion of hydropower projects including Golen Gol is vital to get rid of power shortages in the country, besides lowering electricity tariff for consumers.
Project authorities have already been directed to expedite efforts on electro-mechanical work of the project. Prime Minister has also instructed WAPDA to provide 30MW of electric power to Chitral.
Golen Gol Hydropower Project would not only help bridge the gap between electricity demand and supply but also play an important role in the economic and social uplift of remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like Chitral, officials added.
It is pertinent to mention that Golen Gol Hydropower Project is being constructed on River Golen Gol, a tributary of River Mastuj.
