LAHORE: Zaeem Qadri, the spokesperson for the Punjab government, was left in an uneasy position when Abdul Ghani Butt, a brother of Gullu Butt, showed up at his news conference at Lahore Press Club on Monday.

Ghani Butt, who has a striking resemblance with Gullu Butt, misbehaved with journalists after which workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz thrashed him. Qadri tried to pacify the party workers, but left in the middle of the news conference.

After being beaten, Ghani Butt was handed over to the police.

Qadri was at the press club to convene a news conference with workers of the force PML-N leadership has formed to block Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan’s Raiwind march.

Earlier, while speaking at the conference, Qadri said Imran has insulted the people of Lahore by calling them jugglers.

“He [Imran] has gone beyond the limits of politics and has started making personal attacks.”

Qadri added Imran was resorting to violent protests for his own gains. However, he said, the government would not let such protests take place, but that would be done by staying within the sphere of the law.
