Six bandits hijack passenger bus

DASKA: A total of six robbers hijacked a passenger bus and stole gold ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables worth thousands of rupees from the passengers.

According to police officials, the robbers held the passengers at gun point and hijacked the bus in Daska tehsil early on Sunday.

The accused allegedly boarded the vehicle in the guise of passengers from Chawinda Pasrur and later held several passengers at gun point. The robbers exited the bus with millions of rupees and jewellery and left the passengers as well as the vehicle near a bus stand in the Sattokey village in Daska. The terrified passengers later told police officials about the robbery and two of the passengers injured during the proceedings have been sent to the Daska DHQ Hospital for treatment.

The accused allegedly snatched a rifle from the bus conductor and fled the scene after blindfolding the passengers. Daska Saddar Police has registered a case and is investigating the case with no arrest or recovery as yet.
