BAHAWALPUR: A handicrafts centre and an adult literacy centre for women will be set up at Basti Nala Khanwah soon, MNA Perveen Masood Bhatti said on Sunday.

She was speaking at a ceremony held in connection with a campaign to organise a Pakistan Muslim League women wing in the area.

Bhatti, a member of the Standing Committee for Information and Broadcasting, said the facilities would prove instrumental in socio-economic uplift of women in the area. She said pro-women initiatives were a central component of government’s policy framework for socio-economic development in the country.
