Michael Dawson and Niko Krancjar were both able to take advantage of Sunderland’s vulnerability as Spurs came from behind to claim victory. It moved Harry Redknapp’s side to within two points of third-placed Manchester City, with a game in hand.
Since surrendering their unbeaten home record to Blackpool in December, Sunderland have lost four out of six games at the Stadium of Light. However, Tottenham will have to play much better than this in the San Siro for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
However, Redknapp remains confident ahead of the clash against AC Milan. “I watched Milan, they’re a dangerous side. It’ll be a big test but I think we’ve got a good chance,” said Redknapp.
