Chopra – who ranks in on the eighth position – made her entry after starring in the US drama series Quantico. Her earnings from the show are pegged at $11 million, reported Forbes.
The former Miss World may have only made her international debut just last year but she is already gearing up for the show’s second season, wherein she will be seen essaying the character of a FBI agent named Alex Parrish.
Back in India, Chopra has starred in two Bollywood films over the last one year, namely Bajirao Mastani and Jai Gangaajal. She will also be making her Hollywood film debut with the upcoming Baywatch movie, alongside Dwayne Johnson, the world’s highest paid actor. Aside from acting, much of Chopra’s earnings come from various endorsements as well.
This year’s list was topped by actor Sofia Vergara, who maintained her spot as the highest paid female actor for a fifth year in a row. The 44-year-old Colombian-American actor brought home a whopping $43million excluding management fees and taxes but not all of it came from her hit TV show Modern Family. Vergara also has an impressive array of endorsement deals, as well as her own line of products.
Before Chopra, fellow Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone also made a mark by entering the 2016 Forbes list of world’s highest-paid female actors. Padukone is also pursuing a career in Hollywood and will be making her debut with xXx: Return of Xander Cage, opposite Vin Diesel. The list, which saw Jennifer Lawrence at the top, placed Padukone at 10th position.
