The capital police chief appreciated the police and Rangers personnel in providing security to the people to observe Eid with peace of mind.
IGP Tariq Masood Yasin appreciated the security duties performed by the police and Rangers due to which no any untoward incident was reported from any area of the city.
He hoped that they will maintain the same alertness in future and perform their duty with dedication and provide security to the life and properties of the citizens.
The IGP met the personnel of police and other law enforcement agencies deployed at various check-posts in the city and exchanged Eid greetings.
A special reception for the police personnel was arranged at the Police headquarters which was attended by the IGP, SSP Operations, and other officials.
The IGP in his message said that he is proud of police officials and personnel who remained on duty away from their hometowns and families to safeguard the lives of citizens.
The capital police had put in place a special security plan of Eid. Under the plan, 3,000 police personnel were deployed at major mosques, imambargahs, and other sensitive places.
The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) had also made arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic during Eid holidays on the main highways.
A total of 574 ITP officials performed duties before and during Eid holidays in the capital.
Special traffic arrangements were also made.

Deployment was increased at shopping centres, public parks and graveyards.
The traffic police officials were also deputed at inter-city bus and van stations.
