At least two policemen were killed and five other people were injured injured a roadside blast in Quetta on Tuesday.
According to Express News, a police vehicle was targeted in the city's Sariab Road.
No immediate reports of the nature of the blasts were available.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri condemned the incident.
Attacks on security forces by militants are not rare in Balochistan.
The province has long been plagued by homegrown separatist insurgency and extremist violence which has left hundreds of people dead in the last couple of years.
Jamaatul Ahrar claims responsibility
Meanwhile, TTP’s breakaway faction, Jamaatul Ahrar claimed responsibility for the attack.
The group’s spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan said the attack was part of its operation "raad".
