According to Kitchn, when packaging meats for the freezer, the most important thing is to protect them from exposure to air. Meat should be wrapped in either plastic or freezer paper. After this, it should be wrapped with another layer of aluminum foil or be placed inside a zip freezer bag.
If packaged like this, frozen meat can be stored for over three months. Small pieces of meat always prove helpful for later. They also take up less space than a huge chunk of meat and are easier to warm.
