The premiere of one of the most-anticipated films of the year, Actor in Law, was graced by some of the big names in Pakistani industry such as Atif Aslam

The night of glitz and glamour in Karachi on Sunday, however, turned out to be a disappointment as the whole red carpet affair looked nothing less than a fish market.

It seemed that the whole city was invited to have a grand cinematic experience of Nabeel Qureshi's directorial starring Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat and Om Puri.
And just when we realised we could finally breathe, the real drama continued inside the theatre.
We were lucky enough to grab our seats two rows ahead of the rockstar, but some people weren't.
A woman in the audience grabbed everyone's attention when she started yelling at the top of her lungs as she insisted to be seated in the same row as Atif that too right in his face. Everyone deserves their two-minutes of fame and she definitely got hers.
Not just Mahira, this superstar also has a cameo in Actor in Law
Finally the screening began after a delay of 15 minutes while the lead cast was to be seen no where. They walked in after a good 15-20 minutes with a brigade of other celebrities but everyone in the audience was too engrossed in the film to notice their presence by that time.

Suddenly 10 minutes later the lights turned on and the film was paused, first we thought it's a technical glitch but no. Producer Fizza Ali Meerza along with the director announced that they will replay the entire film as some "people" weren't seated properly.
We should accept we are not different from Bollywood: Nabeel Qureshi
The audience resisted but couldn't help it. And there went our cinematic experience down the drain. Especially, since we have had a royal treatment at Janaan's premiere a day before.
It was then that Atif simply walked out for reasons known or unknown.
It was disappointing to see it coming from the people who have lived up to our expectations in the past and we hope such mismanagement doesn't repeat in the future.
