LAHORE:
Adviser to Chief Minister Khwaja Ahmed Hassaan said on Sunday that better connectivity, a strong economic cycle and provision of speedy transport services to workplaces were the hallmark of a big city.

He said mass transit system played crucial role in development of modern cities. The Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project was a step in this direction, said Hassaan, chairman of the steering committee for the project.

He said Orange Line was an environment-friendly project because it would operate on electricity with no carbon emissions.


He said that between 250,000 and 300,000 commuters would benefit from the train daily.

He said the project had helped create thousands of jobs.
