ISLAMABAD: The Special Investigation Unit of the Islamabad police has arrested the ringleader of a gang of auto thieves and has recovered a vehicle from his possession. The SIU team apprehended a gang member of auto lifters red-handed who had stolen a vehicle, Toyota Corolla (BC/2388), from Ghouri Town Phase-5. An auto-theft case was registered at Koral Police Station after the incident. The suspect was identified as Shaukat Ali, a resident of Nankana Sahib. During the preliminary investigation, the suspect allegedly admitted that he was a member of an auto-theft gang operating in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. He disclosed the identification and whereabouts of his other accomplices.
