ABBOTABAD: The Peshawar High Court has barred the district nazim and tehsil nazim Mansehra from performing their official duties and attached their salaries for failing to appear before the court even though they had been issued notices.

Advocate Sabir Khan Tanoli told the court that his client K&N poultry breeding farm administration manager Khalid Mehmood Khan Gondan Datta has filed a petition seeking contempt of court proceedings against the district and tehsil councils and nine other defendants on August 30, 2010.

He said the contempt of court was committed by district nazim Sardar Said Ghulam and tehsil nazim Khurram Khan by allocating funds for a road passing through the property of his client. He said they also demolished the walls that his client constructed on their property.

He said that earlier the court had issued a status quo to not changing status of the property during 2010. He added the respondents failed to comply with court orders and allocated funds for the road for which he sought contempt of court proceeding.

Earlier on August 31, 2016, the single bench, headed by Justice Ikramullah Khan, issued notices to district and tehsil nazims asking them to appear before the court in person and submit their reply but both the officeholders neither submitted replies nor appeared before the court.
