The bench, headed by Justice Nisar Hussain, excused from hearing the bail plea filed by the former inspector general of police in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Malik Naveed, through his counsel Abdul Sattar Khan.
When the hearing began, Abdul Sattar told the bench the applicant was behind bars since the last two years and 10 months while his repeated bail pleas were dismissed. Justice Syed Afsar Shah said Naveed’s bail pleas were rejected by the chief justice. To this, Abdul Sattar said the plea was filed so that it could be determined on medical grounds whether Naveed could be kept in prison. NAB Prosecutor Jamil Saraf said medical reasons were mentioned in the previous bail applications as well.
