The camp was organised by Pakistan Red Crescent Society Mohmand Agency branch with the cooperation of the local administration and the health department. The security for the medical staff was provided by Frontier Corps personnel.
PRCS FATA’s Dr Parvaiz Khan told the visitors at the camp that treatment for many diseases was expensive and a majority of people could not be cured. In this case, he added, prevention is better than to suffer in search of cure. He said the camp was also meant to raise the locals’ awareness on the prevention of diseases.
On the occasion, PRCS FATA Secretary Saeed Kamal said the medical camp was held in the most backward areas of Mohmand Agency to provide help to the tribespeople at their doorsteps.
Haji Tahir Akbar Mohmand, a elder and member PRCS FATA board,appreciated the political administration and security forces of the agency, locals, doctors and the paramedical staff for extending support and making the camp a success.
Moreover, locals showed gratitude over the endeavour and demanded surgeons and medical specialists be permanently appointed in the area hospital.
Baizai Assistant Political Agent Pir Abdullah Shah the PRCS staff for organising the camp in their area. He added the area had many people, but health staff was not deployed in the government-run hospitals, leaving locals deprived of such medical facilities.
