The army and Egypt

Letter February 11, 2011
The Egyptian people are intelligent, educated and more than capable of sorting this mess out amicably.

KARACHI: This is with reference to your story “Egypt unrest: Mubarak confounds all”. The longer Mubarak stays on, the longer Egypt will continue to suffer human and economic losses. It is inhuman, disastrous and very painful that even after 30 years in power, he is not willing to step down. Procrastinating will only drag the country down into a quagmire of losses. For the sake of the nation he should quit, or the army should rescue the people from this impasse, hold elections and let the country move on. The army should tell Mubarak to immediately give up his power according to the wishes of the people.

The Egyptian people are intelligent, educated and more than capable of sorting this mess out amicably between all stakeholders. Egyptian brothers, we pray for your success.
