On alert: Security tightened in capital

Police patrolling presence in the city has also been increased as a precaution

ISLAMABAD: Security was heightened in Islamabad after terror attacks in Peshawar and Mardan on Friday left at least 19 people dead.

Deployment and checking at all entry and exit points of the capital was increased after a suicide bomber killed at least 14 people in a Mardan courthouse.

Surveillance was also increased around markets, education institutes, parks, and media houses. Police patrolling presence in the city has also been increased as a precaution.
